Held from November 13 to 18, 2025, in Amorgos Island, the festival will focus on emerging technologies in tourism video production

The Cultural Association of Women of Amorgos will host the 16th Amorgos International Tourism Film Festival from November 13 to 18, 2025, alongside the 8th Amorgos Film Academy and the 22nd YPERIA Conference for Culture.

Held annually on the island of Amorgos, the Amorgos International Tourism Film Festival has established itself as an important platform for tourism-focused audiovisual content and is a recognized member of the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), based in Vienna.

Its growing international profile contributes to the promotion of Amorgos and Greece as destinations of cultural and cinematic interest, attracting filmmakers, tourism professionals, and creatives from Europe, the Americas, and Asia.

Approximately 100 participants are expected to attend this year, with the opportunity to explore the island and engage with peers across the fields of media, tourism, and heritage.

The 2025 festival theme, “Digital Renaissance: Cinema in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” explores how emerging technologies such as AI and immersive tools like virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) are reshaping film production, narrative techniques, and content presentation, with direct implications for the tourism sector.

In parallel, the YPERIA Conference will focus on “Highlighting Cultural Heritage in the Digital Era,” examining how digital tools can support the preservation and international visibility of cultural assets, including intangible heritage, local gastronomy, and the natural environment.

Together, these events aim to foster dialogue on innovation in tourism communication and audiovisual production, while reinforcing the role of video as a strategic tool for promoting sustainable and culturally meaningful tourism experiences.
