Patricio Azcárate Díaz de Losada is Secretary General of the Responsible Tourism Institute and has over 15 years of international experience in sustainable tourism. He has led the implementation of the Biosphere certification in numerous destinations and hotel chains across Europe and the Americas, linking tourism with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Holding a degree in Biological Sciences and several master's qualifications, he combines a solid academic background with a deep vocation through which he has driven pioneering methodologies in sustainable tourism, recognised by UNESCO, UNWTO, and the United Nations SDSN network.
