Based on the 8mm behind-the-scenes material exclusively provided by Nicholas Hammond, the oldest film child ‘Frederick’ from ‘The Sound of Music’, an empathetic home movie was created in which the actor takes us to the locations of the production at the time. As a narrator, he provides us with new insights into the making of the film classic with this never-before-seen material, which is linked with current offer from the city and province of Salzburg.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of The Sound of Music, Salzburg's cultural heritage will be strategically highlighted to strengthen its international tourism appeal. The aim is to emotionally engage new and existing audiences, connect the film’s legacy with present-day tourism offerings, and position SalzburgerLand globally as a unique destination of music, nature and film history.
International visitors who would like to experience Salzburg as the setting for the world-famous story of ‘The Sound of Music’. Tourists, especially from English-speaking markets (USA, UK, AUS etc.) for whom the film is a cult classic and who would visit Salzburg because of ‘The Sound of Music’. Family travellers, musical and film fans worldwide.
