Introducing the renewed US International Awards

In Fall 2022 the renewed US International Awards will open their doors for film producers, agencies, client companies and students worldwide to enter their corporate videos, online & social media productions and documentaries.

2020 marked the end of the US International Film and Video Festival, would it not have been for Filmservice International, Europe’s biggest organizer of corporate film festivals. After the decision to shut down the memorable festival, Filmservice International decided to continue the excellent work by taking it over and transforming it into the new US International Awards, giving it not only a new name, but also a complete re-branding. Now, the competition is back. With the original festival having a fifty-five yearlong background within the industry and the expertise of Filmservice International, the renewed US International Awards joyously start into this new era.

Participation
The first edition of the renewed US International Awards will be opened in September 2022. The competition will be open to Corporate Videos, Online & Social Media Videos, Documentaries, Independent Videos, and Student Videos. Film producers, agencies, client companies and students are welcome to submit their creative work.
The Awards’ mission is to have low entry fees, so that smaller companies, start-ups, one-person companies, and companies in difficult economic conditions are attracted as well. Entrants will be able to submit their creative works in over 100 categories.

Awards
Next to Production Art & Craft Winners like “Best Director” and “Best Script”, a dedicated jury will determine Gold and Silver Winners and as well Finalists for every other category. Grand Awards may be selected among the Gold Winners within the main categories. Additionally, the US International Awards want to highlight the outstanding achievements of their entrants with Specialty Awards, which may be given out to the Agency of the Year, Production Company of the Year, TV Network of the Year, Client Company of the Year, and Film School of the Year.

All further information on the categories, entry fees and conditions of participation can be found at www.usinternationalawards.com.

Winner Interview
Vanessa Stachel, Student Filmmaker, Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg

For the second year in a row, the Grand Award for Student Videos went to an aspiring young filmmaker from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg based in Germany. This year, the talented Vanessa Stachel received the prestigious award for her innovative stop-motion spec spot "Delivery for Mr. Frogula".

In this interview, we delve into the creative journey behind this remarkable work, explore the inspirations and challenges faced along the way, and get to know more about Vanessa Stachel, the creative force behind this unique vision.

Congratulations on your Grand Award! What does it mean to you and all the people involved in this project to receive this award?

Our “Team Frogula” is absolutely blown away by the success we had in the last months at festivals with our stop-motion spec spot! And now, winning a Grand Award at the US International Awards shows us we made all the right decisions when making the film. Thank you so much, we feel honored!

Can you run us through the creative process behind the winning work you entered into the 2024 US International Awards?

My very first idea was just to make a stop-motion spec spot about a vampire frog. That’s it. I felt a bit exhausted from the very busy three years of film school I had so far and I loved the idea of just crafting a frog puppet and listening to audiobooks for countless hours while doing so.
And maybe also to tell a super fun and spooky story? Since forever, I’ve been in love with Vampire stories... and with frogs!
